HOW DOES HCO RELAY WORK?
The HCO user types to the relay operator.
The relay operator reads aloud the typed message to the other party.
The other party speaks directly to the HCO user.

Hearing Carry-Over (HCO) allows a person with a speech disability to listen to the other caller, while typing his or her words on a TTY for the operator to read aloud to the called party.
HCO relay is not compatible with PBX system, VOIP phones or digital landlines; a dedicated landline must be used.While local calls are made at no charge, long distance calls are now available at no charge effective July 1, 2017.
